Looking at my Facebook page, it seems like I'm having a great life!
1. Chris' Bridal Shower
I don't know if I've posted this already previously. But this got to be one of the most fab-and-fun parties I've organized. We all look fab in white. isn't it? All the elements needed in a fun bridal shower were there: surprises, gigolo, cocks, friends, food (and those yummy pizzas!), games, did I mention cocks?
2. Christmas Eve Dinner
Preparing a fab noche buena is far from being easy. But mix a group of people who are soooo into decors and are into creating one great atmosphere, then you whip up a grandiose feast for everyone. Never mind the ugly two tables set side-by-side each other to make it look like a long dining table. Never mind the shoes and slippers parked near the doorsteps. Never mind the cheap $20 budget each person needs to contribute.
You'll definitely find ways to bring out the best Christmas atmosphere ever, only if you are ingenious. Tips? Turn off the lights, turn on your sentimental Christmas playlist, and hide the ugly tables with your beautiful table covers and colorful centerpieces.
3. Christmas Day Inuman
I've been looking around for the perfect spot in Singapore that somehow resembles the inuman places in the Philippines. Rustic. No air-cons. Good bands playing. Great beer. Excellent company.
True enough, there is such a place. Thank God for Timbre at Substation. What a perfect way to cap off my Christmas day!
4. Chin's Big 30
New friends are L-O-V-E. I didn't love the red and white wines I drank though. It tasted liked some cough syrups. Tried loading up at Chin's birthday party at Pan Pacific first before Mykee and I met up to go to Taboo.
5. Wicked in Singapore
I've watched Wicked twice. The first one was a surprise gift from Jaypee, while I paid for the second one. Although our seats are quite far from the stage, I still loved what I saw. And...(should I even mention it) #hellyeahimproud I cried twice while watching the "For Good" segment of Glinda, The Good Witch, and Elpheba, The Wicked Witch of the West. I just got carried away, I must say.
6. Mamabear's Baby Shower for Babybear
I was supposed to be the emcee of this party, but I got too lazy. It was actually fun participating in the games though.
What I didn't love though was the dishes that were served that day --- lumpia was boring, leche flan tasted like rubber, and the grilled liempo tasted like some sweet bbq.
7. Pao Tan's 26th
Pao is really good in finding classy, tasty, and unusual restaurants around the city. I think the resto is called "Off the Oven" and is somewhere near the Lavender MRT station. It also served very good pizzas.
After eating several thin crust pizzas the past weeks, I've just realized that I prefer the thick ones instead a.k.a. Pizza Hut's Cheesy Crust. It's more value for money, I think.
8. Brunch at The Marmalade Pantry
What I love about brunches organized by the "Brunch Queen" himself, Pao Tan, is that we end up in some not-so-crowded-and-mainstream places like the Stables at Bukit Timah. Although I spent a whopping $28 for some ordinary breakfast platter, I got fascinated with their lovely cupcakes though. And I had two of them!
9. New Year's Eve
The real highlight of my past two months was our New Year's celebration at Marina Bay Sands. Imagine being stuck for hours at this part of Singapore as there were no taxis around, buses were full, and the MRTs are still not in operation.
Hello Aljunied. Hello achy feet.
Signing off,
SuperPao
