Walkway to Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok |
Three days in Bangkok --- will never be enough.
If you only have a few days in Bangkok, it'll be best to spend your days prioritizing where to go and what to do, especially since it's quite a hefty task to jump from one location to another given the infamous Bangkok traffic jam.
It's my second time in Bangkok but the rest of my family were all Bangkok virgins. Hence it's a pre-requisite to visit the main touristy spots in the city.
Here's the recommended Bangkok itinerary I have prepared:
Day 1 - Temples, Temples, Temples.
Temple of the Emerald Buddha |
Must visit: Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Grand Palace, Wat Pho. Spend at least half of your day here.
At night, we spent a hundred bucks drinking expensive pineapple juices and and mocktails at Sirocco at the Dome (Lebua). I think it's actually the view we paid for and not the drinks...
Bangkok captured at night |
Day 2 - Shop 'Til You Drop
Must-visit: Chatuchak Market
It's Bangkok's version of Divisoria, but only safer. Here you will find anything under the sun --- from cute cutleries, unique shirts, to inexpensive house decor.
We bought the wall frame at 4,000 baht (selling price at SM Megamall for a similar looking frame will most likely be around PHP 20,000) |
Family went to the only Catholic Cathedral in Bangkok, the Assumption Cathedral.
Photo shoot beside the Cathedral's parking lot |
Family time before pigging out for lunch |
Thai Actor Boy Pakorn at Siam Square |
Met Thai Superstar Boy Pakorn at Siam Square |
Thai Foot Massage after a physically draining weekend |
Didn't think my family will enjoy Bangkok that much. I thought they will liken it to Manila all the time we were there. But despite Bangkok's organized chaos, it ended up as an enjoyable trip for the four of us.
